The 5th Maplewood Parent Prom, Dazed and Confused: Party at the Moontower!
February 8th, 2020 from 7pm-11pm at Blue Genie.

That’s right! It’s time for the 5th Annual Maplewood Parent Prom. This year we’ll be convening at Blue Genie to recreate the epic night from Dazed and Confused.

Music will be provided by the Recliners, featuring Maplewood Dads Neal Mehta and Jeff Bloom, from 7pm-8pm and by DJ Girlfriend from 8pm – 11pm. There will be a photo booth and a killer silent auction and raffle rife with treats for you, your valentine and maybe even your kiddos. There will be a cash bar and this year there will be food for sale! Big thanks to G&M Catering who will providing the food and drinks and donating the proceeds to Parent Prom!

You don’t have to have a kid at Maplewood to come to Prom! We want everyone, Maplewood Families, Alumni, Teachers, Staff, Austinites — really anyone who is 21 and up, to come. Just leave the kiddos at home. This is an adults only event.

Child Care!

Rosemary Salazar is providing babysitting at Maplewood from 6pm-Midnight at Maplewood. It’s $30 for the first child and $20 per sibling. If you are interested in this babysitting option you can contact MaplewoodParentProm@gmail.com or fill out the form in the Wednesday Folder. You can also download the form here, and turn it into Rosemary directly with payment.

Sponsorship Levels

We want as many people as possible to be able to come! For that reason, we are making the general admission tickets free or suggested donation, so as to remove the barrier of entry that a set ticket price creates. The suggested donation is $25 per ticket.

We have however created a bunch of sponsorship levels. These sponsorships will help defray the cost of Parent Prom. We hope you’ll consider joining the Team if you are able! Sponsorships are open to families or businesses. By sponsoring the event, you are providing other Maplewood families, teachers, and staff the opportunity to attend it. Team Awkward sponsorships also help the PTA cover the yearly costs associated with literacy support for the school and more.

The Freshman- $100

Helps cover the cost of the event so that all Maplewood family members can attend either free-of-charge or through a suggested donation.
