A HUGE thank you to all 40 volunteers who came out to our first garden work day on October 5! We had lots of school families, a Girl Scout troop, and even alumni come out to spend a sunny morning building new classroom garden beds, powerwashing the blacktop so it’s ready to paint new games on, removing weed trees and mustang vine, thinning out reeds in the courtyard pond, getting all the garden beds ready for fall planting, and more.
We are so grateful for Girl Scout Caileigh Dowell’s work Ecorise grant, which funded $500 of limestone dry stack we used to replace old wood beds in disrepair. Her troup, family and friends built six new raised beds for classroom gardens in the heart of the school, just in time for the fall gardening season. We hope to see you all again on October 19, for the Monarch Heroes Garden workday!
